The Wheels Keep Rolling

For over 40 years skateboarders have been shocking crowds with tricks some people only dream of doing. These days’ skateboarders are getting younger and younger. Skateboarding seems to be evolving over the last generations from the 1970’s Z-Boys and Dog Town to a much younger crowd of impressionable “skater boys”. more...

Hanging Lake

From the head of the Glenwood Canyon Bike Path, the walk to Hanging Lake looks never ending. But, once you get to the end of the 1.2 mile trail and up the staircase, you’ll see your efforts were all worth while. Breath taking waterfalls and a seemingly glass pond followed by Spouting Rock, a must see demonstration of natures true beauty. A day of fun with the family, free of charge and unforgettable.

The trail to Hanging Lake is a 1.2 mile hike up, parallel the pathway is a crystal clear creek you can wet your feet in when you get hot. There are also benches through the duration of the hike that you can sit and rest on. At the end of the trail is a large staircase made primarily of boulders and fixed with a metal handrail for your assistance.

Once you’ve finished your long hike up, the view of the pristine water falls and the limpid pond will sweep you off your feet. You can feed the fish, walk around the pond and get near enough to the waterfalls to cool off in it’s inviting mist.

Continuing around the pond you will come to a sign marking the head of the pathway to Spouting Rock. If you follow this trail it will lead you to another spectacular display of natural artistry. At 7000 feet high this beautiful waterfall is an enchanting sight to see.

Located 7 miles East of Glenwood Springs and only half a mile from the Grizzly Creek Exit on I-70, Hanging Lake is a great place to ride you bike to. So don’t forget to bring lots of drinking water. Also, there are no food vendors of any kind in the area so be sure to pack your lunch and plenty of snacks for the day.
